WAX Joins Forces with Amazon Web Services to Empower Developers

Published:

In a significant move for the blockchain and gaming industries, the Worldwide Asset Exchange (WAX), known for its focus on gaming and ranked as the 10th largest blockchain in terms of activity, has forged a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This collaboration marks WAX’s integration into the Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB) service, heralding a new era of development ease and efficiency for blockchain developers.

A Leap Forward for Blockchain Development

The integration into AMB represents a crucial development for WAX, as it allows developers to deploy nodes directly through the AWS console. This not only simplifies the process of building decentralized applications (dapps) on WAX but also enhances the blockchain’s accessibility and potential for innovation. The AMB service, aimed at aiding developers in crafting dapps on both private and public blockchains, now stands as a pivotal tool for those working within the WAX ecosystem.

Token Surge and Market Response

Following the announcement of the deal, the WAX native token experienced a notable surge, increasing by more than 20% within 24 hours, a significant uptick compared to the CoinDesk 20 Index’s 1.6% gain over the same period. Although the token saw a further increase of 5.6% immediately after the news broke, it eventually stabilized at $0.111. This market response underscores the significant impact of the AWS partnership on investor confidence and the perceived value of the WAX platform.

Embracing the Future of Web3

Lukas Sliwka, the Chief Technology Officer at WAX, emphasized the importance of this partnership in the broader journey toward the mass adoption of Web3 technologies. By leveraging AWS’s robust infrastructure and the AMB service, WAX is poised to become an even more influential platform in the blockchain space, particularly within the gaming sector.

In the past month alone, WAX has facilitated 141 million transactions, engaging 666,000 unique active wallets. The platform hosts 160 Web3 games, including notable titles like Brawlers, a trading card game that has gained traction within the Amazon Prime Gaming service alongside other popular games such as Apex Legends and Call of Duty.
