Sberbank, Russia’s largest bank, is making progress with its plan to launch a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform. The bank intends to trial the product in the next few months, with open trials expected to be launched by May 2023. Sberbank has faced challenges in launching blockchain tools in the past, with multiple delays of registration by the Russian central bank. The bank finally received approval from the Bank of Russia in spring 2022 and is now ready to launch its DeFi platform.

Alfa Bank Joins DeFi Market
