Sam Bankman-Fried, the CEO of the bankrupt crypto exchange FTX, signed extradition papers yesterday. Earlier, he was fighting extradition to the USA. It is believed that SBF signed these papers and is expected to fly to the US after hearing about it in Nassau on Wednesday. The Bahamas Acting Commissioner of Corrections has also confirmed this development.
In the US, authorities are awaiting his arrival after the hearing on Wednesday. It is noteworthy that SBF will fly back to the US along with FBI agents on a non-commercial flight from a private airport in the Bahamas.
Remember that Sam Bankman-Fried has faced severe charges of misusing customers’ funds at FTX, the bankrupt crypto exchange. It is also worth mentioning that a Bahamian court had denied his bail in the last week. The authorities had instead kept him in the most notorious jail in the country, Fox Hill. The experts are hopeful and say that this change in SBF attitude may be due to the expectation that he may get bail in the US.
