MicroStrategy Buys Bitcoin Worth $150 Million in Recent Purchase

Software developer MicroStrategy, symbolized as MSTR, has announced a significant addition to its bitcoin holdings.

A Hefty Investment in Bitcoin

In a recent regulatory statement, MicroStrategy detailed its acquisition of roughly 5,445 bitcoins. This purchase, made between August 1 and September 24, amounted to nearly $147.3 million. The average price per bitcoin during this period was around $27,053, factoring in fees and other costs.

Cumulative Holdings and Future Plans

With this new addition, MicroStrategy’s total bitcoin stash has risen to an impressive 158,245 BTC. The company has spent about $4.68 billion on these assets, with an average buying price hovering at approximately $29,582 per bitcoin.

To fund these substantial bitcoin purchases, the company released and sold 403,362 MSTR shares. Moreover, back in August, the software developer mentioned potential plans to amass up to $750 million by offloading more stock. A portion of the future proceeds from these sales might further boost their bitcoin holdings.
