Strategy Boosts Bitcoin Reserves with $1.92 Billion Purchase

Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, has made another bold move in the crypto space. Between March 24 and March 30, 2025, the company added 22,048 BTC to its already impressive stash. This latest acquisition cost approximately $1.92 billion, averaging $86,969 per coin.

With this purchase, Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings now stand at 528,185 BTC. The company has spent around $35.63 billion to accumulate this amount, with an average cost of $67,458 per Bitcoin. Based on the current Bitcoin price of $82,636 as of March 31, 2025, those holdings are now valued at roughly $43.7 billion.

Funding the Bitcoin Binge

To finance this large-scale acquisition, Strategy tapped into several funding sources:

  • Raised $1.2 billion through an at-the-market (ATM) common stock offering.
  • Secured $18.52 million via its STRK preferred stock ATM program.
  • Closed a $711.2 million public offering of its 10% Series A Perpetual Strife Preferred Stock (STRF) on March 25, priced at $85.00 per share.

This financial maneuvering reflects Strategy’s commitment to aggressively expanding its Bitcoin position while maintaining capital flexibility.

Saylor’s Vision Drives Bitcoin Strategy

Michael Saylor, Strategy’s co-founder and executive chairman, remains a fierce advocate for Bitcoin. He continues to position it as a more reliable store of value than traditional assets like gold. His strategy leans heavily on the belief that Bitcoin will play a central role in preserving wealth amid global economic volatility.

Despite Bitcoin’s price swings and broader market uncertainty, Strategy hasn’t wavered. Its holdings now represent about 2.55% of Bitcoin’s circulating supply—further cementing its status as the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin.
