Mark Cohen hired as Sam Bankman-Fried’s attorney

Mark Cohen from the litigation firm Cohen & Gresser is reportedly representing Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the CEO of the failed crypto exchange FTX. As a lawyer, Mark Cohen represented Ghislaine Maxwell in her sex trafficking case.

Reuters reported Cohen’s representation of SBF after SBF’s spokesperson Mark Botnick provided information to the news outlet. The SBF was also being consulted by Stanford Law professor David Mills, Botnick disclosed.

Last week, Bankman-Fried made public appearances to discuss the collapse of FTX. His legal team advised him not to discuss FTX publicly, he said at the time.

In late November, other lawyers not directly involved in the case told Forkast that Bankman-Fried could be sentenced to more than 20 years in prison depending on the severity of the FTX collapse and if he is convicted.
