EDF Subsidiary Exaion Joins Chiliz Blockchain as Validator

Published:

Exaion, a subsidiary of the French state-owned energy giant EDF, has recently become a network validator for the Chiliz Chain, marking a significant move into the blockchain space. This development underscores Exaion’s commitment to leveraging its expertise in energy and technology to support digital transformation, particularly in sports and entertainment.

Expanding Blockchain Efforts into Sports and Entertainment

Chiliz, known for creating fan tokens in partnership with some of the world’s most prominent soccer teams, aims to capitalize on Exaion’s experience in energy efficiency and technology. Exaion’s role will be to help secure the network that facilitates fan token trading on Socios.com, which includes tokens for FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, and Paris St-Germain, among others. This move comes as Chiliz seeks to broaden its blockchain initiatives within the sports and entertainment sectors.

Exaion’s Energy Efficiency Focus

Exaion’s dedication to improving the energy efficiency of data centers aligns with the growing demand for more sustainable digital solutions. As a validator on the Chiliz Chain, Exaion will manage blockchain nodes to secure the network by verifying transactions and authorizing smart contracts, thereby contributing to a more energy-efficient blockchain infrastructure.

Joining Forces with Leading Sports Teams

The decision by Exaion follows in the footsteps of the French soccer giant Paris St-Germain (PSG), which also recently became a Chiliz validator. PSG’s involvement was a notable first for a sports club, highlighting the increasing interest and participation of traditional sports entities in blockchain technology.

A Strategic Move for Digital Engagement

Fatih Balyeli, co-founder of Exaion, emphasized that becoming a Chiliz Chain validator is a key strategy that aligns with the company’s vision for the future of digital engagement. By combining forces with Chiliz, Exaion not only advances its objectives in energy efficiency and technology but also contributes to the growth and security of a leading platform in the fan engagement space.
