Avail, a prominent blockchain data-availability project, has officially confirmed plans for a substantial token airdrop, following last week’s leak of eligibility details on social media platform X. The “unification drop” will distribute 600 million tokens to a diverse group of blockchain participants.
Airdrop Details and Eligibility
The Avail team’s blog post detailed that 354,605 wallet addresses are eligible for the token airdrop. The recipients include blockchain ecosystem developers, testnet contributors, users of major rollups like Polygon, zkSync, Starknet, Optimism, and Arbitrum, Polygon PoS stakers, and active community members who have significantly contributed to the ecosystem.
Verification and Distribution Process
Eligible recipients can start verifying their claims immediately, with the verification window open until May 4. The distribution of tokens is set to coincide with the launch of Avail’s Data Availability (DA) solutions, aiming to enhance off-chain data processing capabilities for blockchains.
Broader Impact and Upcoming Projects
Avail has been in the spotlight for its innovative DA solutions, which have been gaining traction alongside other notable projects like Celestia and Eigenlayer’s EigenDA. The team is also developing Avail Nexus and Avail Fusion, which are designed to interconnect various rollups and enhance the security of crypto assets like ether and bitcoin within the Avail ecosystem.
